Melt My Heart!

It was nap time on Saturday and I was trying to get the kids upstairs. Jaileigh and Michael were missing so I was yelling for them to come up. I looked over our loft area and saw these two walking hand in hand. I ran to get the camera but I wasn't able to get a picture of their hands. They are holding hands in the picture it just isn't visable.

These two disappeared for about 2 minutes one day. This is where I found them, hiding under the counter eating the nutella right out of the jar.

A Little Date

Michael, Annie and I got to hang out together one evening. Wow! 2 kids is so much easier than 5. I almost didn't know what to do with myself. Mike took the other 3 to football practice. Michael wanted to stay home with Mommy. I had a coupon to Michael's I wanted to use and so we went out on the town. I wanted to get a laminator but they didn't have one so Michael got a new elephant. He was thrilled especially since I just took away all of his other animals because he refused to clean them up. He was going through animal {ELEPHANT} withdrawals. Annie was just happy to be along for the ride. 

I do take the little munchkins out for 1 on 1 dates or sometimes 2 on 1. They always LOVE it! They just glow the whole time and TALK the whole time. I feel like they are trying to make up for shared time. Ahhhh, I love these little kiddos!

Suture Removal Day

On Tuesday (7/19) Michael got his stitches out. We went to Dr. Ambrose to have them removed.

A Year Later, Another Set Of Stitches

Yep, we now have our 2nd set of stitches. Jakob got the first set last June a little over a year ago.  This time he was again involved. He and Michael were goofing around. Jake pushed Michael and WHAM he fell into the bookshelf. I rushed him to the urgent care, which is a block away.  An hour and a half later, he got 3 stitches. He didn't cry once, he was so brave. The doctor was so impressed. He said that this would be his demeanor his whole life, one tough kid. After the stitches, even though it was bedtime, we went to Target and let him pick out a toy. He chose the Fisher Price zoo because it had an elephant in it.

A Wicked Curve Spoon

YEP, that is blood running down the side of his head.

The poor kid didn't even know he was bleeding until I showed him the picture.

He'll survive. He's all smiles now.

So here is the story. Michael for some reason decided to pitch a wicked curve ball (spoon) that whacked Anthony right in the side of the head. Somehow that spoon cut his head right open. Thank goodness that kid has a hard head. He only cried for a few seconds. Neither one of us knew it was bleeding until Michael told us. He was saying and signing sorry over and over and pointing to Anthony's head with huge eyes. The poor kid was more traumatized then Anthony was.

Oh What Do You Do On MLK Day?

We went to get shots. Every Monday and Tuesday morning I load the kids in the Suburban between 7:45-8:00 to drive Michael to the doctor for his allergy shots. He gets 4 shots, 2 each in each arm. After he gets them we have to wait 20 minutes to make sure he doesn't have a reaction. Today Mike got to come with us because he didn't have work.

Waiting for 20 minutes gets a little boring sometimes so the kids are making friends with the kids in the neighboring office. The was the cutest little girl on the other side of the door.

After shots we headed to The San Diego Zoo. It is about an hour drive for us. I was hoping the kids would nap on the way but they were too excited  to see the animals. The whole way they talked about the animals they wanted to see.

Annie played a trick on Daddy and squeezed the water bottle when he was opening it. They both got wet. Luckily I brought a change of clothes for Annie, I didn't think to bring one for Daddy.

Michael was getting tired. Actually they were all getting tired by this time.

The kids had so much fun and were so good today. They love animals and were so excited to see real ones. I think we will be at the zoo a little more from now on.

So Many Places To Be

On Wednesday the 29th of December we had a busy day at our house or rather away from our house. At 8:45am we had an appointment at Loma Linda for our High Risk Infant Follow Up check up. We had to load and leave our house by 7:30. It was raining cats and dogs which made traffic a little tricky. We actually made it on time and ended up waiting over an hour for the doctor to show up. The kids were tested with the Bayley test. Rather than butcher the definition and purpose I just copied and pasted it from the web.


Definition The Bayley Scales of Infant Development (BSID) measure the mental and motor development and test the behavior of infants from one to 42 months of age.

Purpose The BSID are used to describe the current developmental functioning of infants and to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning for infants with developmental delays or disabilities. The test is intended to measure a child's level of development in three domains: cognitive, motor, and behavioral.
This test is supposed to last 2 hrs per person. We were there 4.5 hours and we were all exhausted. They split the kids up into twos. I took two into a room with a therapist and Mike stayed outside and played with the other three. The therapist had them do all kinds of things, puzzles, sorting, colors, speech, role playing, money, counting etc. It was cute when they got tired (mentally) they would say "all done" and push whatever she was trying to get them to do away. It was mentally draining for me and I wasn't even being tested. After the first two were done then the next two were tested. We didn't wait around for results because we had been there so long and the kids were DONE! I had them call me when they figured everything out.

All of them tested, above average, superior, with a few averages. Nothing stood out as worrisome or problematic. Whooo hooooo!

I was really worried about Jaileigh's weight. They plotted it and said she is in the 10th percentile. This is great. Up until now she hasn't ever made it onto the chart. They said she is just a petite little girl. They did give me some tips on how to fatten all of them up because they are all pretty small. We are going to try some new things and see if we can get them to put on some LB'S!

They will mail me all the official results later. When they do I will be sure to update.



That afternoon Michael had his appointment with the allergy doctor. He went in for skin testing. He has been battling allergies for quite awhile now. He would wake up screaming in the middle of the night because he couldn't breath. He always has a cough and a runny nose. I have taken him to the doctor so many times and he is never sick. Finally when we moved we got a new doctor he referred us right away to an allergy doctor. Some of you may have noticed he always has dark circles under his eyes, classic sign of allergies. Answers to so many questions! We were meant to move so we could find a new doctor for Michael.

So the results from the allergy test. . . . . dum dum de dum He's allergic to EVERYTHING!!! Poor kid! He inherited my bum genes. I am also allergic to every tree, weed, flower, animal, grasses out there. I did allergy shots and now am allergy, asthma, and cough free. It looks like that is what Michael will be doing as well. I feel bad that I have passed on those genes to him. I am praying that it is only him and not the other three too.

What a crazy day! I am tired. Here are some pictures.
