Fire Days

Instead of "snow days" we have "fire days" here in California. After school I decided to take the kids to get Italian Ice at Rita's in Murrieta. As we were driving I noticed the smoke.

We enjoyed our Italian Ice and Gelato's!

As we drove home the smoke was worse!

This is right in front of our house. 

Before the afternoon was over we got a call saying school was cancelled because if the unhealthy air quality. Hooray!!! They were out of school until the following week. We were so happy to have one more week of summer. 

My oh my though! What can you do to entertain 5 kids that can't go outside. Yikes!

They all got into my closet.

We made yummy treats and devoured them. 

They made interesting projects

The air quality did clear up a couple of days for a few hours a day. The wind would blow out the smoke and the kids would run outside to play until I called them back in because the smoke was back.

Cayson taught everyone how to play gumpsh. It was a hit!

Roxy loved having the kids home. She really misses them when they are at school.
