Wednesday Beach Trip

Wednesday Beach Trip

We went down for another rock collecting trip. Jake is a beast! He helped me carry and collect a ton of rocks. I was smart this time and brought the wagon. All the kids had to help push it but when Jake pushed, or didn't push, I could definitely tell.

Digging under the lifeguard stand.

I see a little head poking out!
Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango?
Thunderbolt and lightning,
Very, very frightening me.

Magnifico-o-o-o-o.

Now there's two!

The waves were great! There was a huge club or surf club that came in at high tide. It was really neat to see.

I told Michael if he didn't get in the water before we left that I was going to throw him in as far as I could throw him. He immediately got in! He would rather it was on his terms than mine.

They would throw or hit the ball in the waves and then chase it. Sometimes it would take them several minutes to find it. A couple of times they thought they had lost it for sure.

It's the rare moments like these that make all the crazy and wild times worth it.

My little seal. He just lays in the sand and lets the wave go over him. He loves the ocean.

My free spirit, flying from thing to thing.

He tried the water and loved it. He didn't even get eaten by a shark or stung by a sting ray!

"Look Mom, I'm on the titanic!"

The tide was coming in and filling the holes. It was like having mini pools all around.

We left with a car full of rocks, ate somewhere fabulous and slept the rest of the way home.

Cubs Vs Padres

Game #1
CubsVs Padres
13-3 Cubs
Baseball season has begun again. The boys have been practicing and scrimmaging all summer and they are so happy to be back into a regular routine again. It was so nice to beat this team. I can say things like this because my blog is private! whoo hoo! There is a certain mom from this team that tried to play Mike and the other coach to see which one would have a winning season. Mike finally told her early in the summer that she needed to pick a team to be loyal to, he didn't want to waste his time if she wasn't going to stick with him. She chose the other team only because she thought they would have more wins. We KILLED them! We didn't even finish the game, it ended in a mercy. Karma really stinks! That is my unChrist like moment. I was so proud of the team and my boys though. It was awesome.

Michael leading off at 2nd.

My big Anthony up to bat.

Michael playing catcher. His brothers are giving him a run for his money though. Jake is darn good as well.

Annie's little stinker friend. He is such a cute kid. He and Annie hing out during the game. His brother was on the other team our opponent. He asked me to take his picture. He was fascinated with my camera. I don't think he's ever seen a real camera before.

Sean one of the twins on our team. He and his brother, Tyler, are good friends with my kids. They really clicked, I think it's a multiples thing.

Labor Day Camping

We camped Labor Day weekend locally. We had friends that were going to camp with us and then they backed out because it was so hot and they had some mechanical troubles with their trailer. It ended up being a relaxing weekend just with the family.

We were there August 30-September 5. I stayed there every night with different kids. One night was boy night, one night was girl night, most of the time I had all the kids. It was fun.

This was such a huge dust devil or mini tornado.

One night we found tarantulas. It is tarantula mating season.

When we are local we still get to go to school!

Camping local means we get to go to church. On the way home from church Jake as being silly and put on Annie's vest.

The boys went for a walk and found parts of a goose or duck nest. They brought all their treasures back to the campsite.

It was an interestingly low key weekend. I wish school weeks were always 4 days instead of 5.
