Pinewood Derby

Pinewood Derby
THANK GOODNESS for Grandpa Pops! He helped (made) with the boys derby cars. It was so much fun to see he and the boys have this bonding time together.

Eye Surgery PRK

For Christmas I gave myself the gift of eye surgery to correct my very, very poor vision. My sweet friend drove me to the appointment (Mike had baseball, of course), she waited for me, and then drove me home after. We had to go to Ontario which is about a 30-45 minute drive each way. The surgery went well but I don't think that I ever want to go through it again. It was very scary and it did hurt a little. I was not a candidate for Lasik because my eyes were too bad so they had to do PRK. It has a longer recovery but is supposedly better in the long run. They total dissolve the top layer of your cornea so there isn't the scar tissue you have with Lasik. The recovery is about a month with PRK and 3-5 days with Lasik.

The light kills your eyes! I wore glasses everywhere and all the time.

My night goggles so I didn't rub my eyes and eye drops.

Someone sweet made our bed and left treats. During the Christmas season I encourage the kids to do an act of service a day.

Yummy treats

My eyes were still so sensitive to light

The neighbor has 6 kids and loves to send them over to our house. She has 5 boys and 1 girl so they fit right in with our kids. One night we played twister.

It was pretty funny until someone farted in someone elses face.

Going for a Sams Club run,

We were doing a snack bar for a fundraiser for the baseball team.

Our snake, Slytherin, didn't eat its mouse. Roxy saw it running around in the cage and was pretty fascinated.

Movie time. I took the kids to a matinee during the Christmas Break. We never go to the movie because it is so much money.

We dyed Jaileigh's hair too. Blue.

New Years Eve And Day

New Year's Day and New Year's Eve is always really fun for our family. We have a ton of different traditions that we do each year. WE always make a pecan pie with a quarter hidden inside for good luck, we do fondue, we dress crazy, we dress in nice clothes, we play games, have a dance party, eat a nice meal prepared by Mike and stay up as late as we can.

Mike doesn't have a head!
