Labor Day Weekend

Today Anthony discovered eyelashes. I was laying on the floor playing with the babies. Jakob, Jaileigh and Michael were blowing raspberries on my belly. Anthony, "Mr Curiosity", was studying my face. He started poking my eye so I said "eye" thinking that he was trying to learn the name of my eye. Then he started pulling. He was trying to pull my eyelashes out. I started laughing so hard I startled him. Then he thought it was funny and tried to do it more. Little stinker!

Here is a belated posting of labor day weekend.

Playing in baskets is fun, especially when your buddies fit in them with you. The babies climb in these all by themselves. I don't know how they do it but they somehow all manuever in. I guess if they squished inside me then they can squish in a basket.

Michael is reaching for the computer, look at his little grin
"Ah ha, I got it!" He's checking out his moms cousin Sunny's Blog. (so does that make them 2nd cousins?)

Checking out their new playhouse with Bill inside. I don't know if they were confused with the house or that there was a big guy inside the little house.

After swimming at the Millers the babies crashed on their floor. Michael, Jaileigh, Jakob, and Anthony

Broken RV :o(

On the way back from the San Diego Zoo our RV broke down. Bad news when you have 4 babies. Luckily we were only 20 miles from home. We called AAA to come and get us, of course they didn't have a tow truck big enough to seat all of us. Our good friend Dana went to our house, picked up our suburban and came and got us. The temperature was 107 degrees. The tow truck guy let us hang out in his truck while we waited for Dana to come. We were so blessed that she was home and able to come and get us. Otherwise we would have been stranded on the side of the road.

Honest Scrap

I was recently nominated by fellow quad mom, Jenn King for the Honest Scrap Award. This means I have to share 10 honest things about myself and then I get to nominate 7 other bloggers that I love.

#1- I HATE tomatoes. I will not eat them. I won't eat their juice, their seeds, their skins. If any of the above touches any part of my food, I won't eat it. YUCK!

#2- I LOVE chocolate. When I was younger I was actually allergic to it. After college I outgrew the chocolate allergy and now I am making up for lost time. While I was nursing I wasn't able to eat it again and it was very painful!

#3- My husband calls me OCD and anal retentive. I don't think that I am that bad but I do have a few anal retentive habits. I like things neat and orderly. My closet is organized by color, DVDs and CDs are alphabetized, laundry needs to be folded my way, dishwasher must be organized, etc. I love to organize. This was the BTQ (before the quads) me. Once they came my life was overthrown. Now that they are 1 and a little easier to take care of the "old" me is starting to come out again.

#4- Now that I just told you how anal I am, I am going to tell you how easy going and laid back I am. I am a very mellow, patient person. I don't know where the analness came from?! and how can a patient person be anal? The patience helped me when I was a high school teacher and now it has really come in handy with the little quaddies. My students would always ask why I never yelled at them. I just don't believe that yelling gets you anywhere in life.

#5- When I first went to college my major was conservation biology, I was going to be a forest ranger. Then I switched to pre-med, then I decided I was done with school and got a teaching certificate. I still LOVE the medical field though. I taught Anatomy and Physiology to High Schoolers to keep in touch with the medical side of things. Maybe someday I'll go back to school, hmmmm, not likely. Haha

#6- I love to shop. BTQ I never bought anything full price. That was a sin to buy something that wasn't on sale. I loved the challenge of finding awesome things at really cheap prices. Now that I have 4 little ones I pay full price quite a bit.

#7- I am a reader. Each of the Harry Potters and Twilight books I would read the day I got them. When I was single I would stay up all night reading. Once I got married I didn't do it too much. That is one of the things that I miss most, sitting down to a good book.

#8- I used to be a closet Mountain Dew drinker. I haven't had it since December 2007 but I still miss it. I really have a sugar addiction and Mountain Dew has a load of sugar! Sugar and Caffeine= great combo!

#9- I have broken every toe, except the 2 big ones, several times. I broke my foot, my pinky twice (or was it 3 times?) and had stitches in my forehead, and staples in my head. I am sometimes referred to as a klutz.

#10- I have had more traffic tickets than anyone I know. I have taken traffic school in too many counties to tell. Thank goodness for traffic school otherwise I wouldn't have insurance. My husband calls me the "speedracer". I hate it when people drive in the fast lane. It is NOT for traveling in, unless you are going really fast. That is one of my pet peeves and why I have so many traffic tickets. Now that I have 4 babies I no longer drive. I really don't think they should be put in jeopardy of my mad driving skills or my crazy road rage.

And now the award goes to . . . .

San Diego Road Trip

At the zoo we only got a few pictures and sadly none of them were of us. This picture is a picture of "tree lady" If you look closely you can see her face. It was the coolest costume I have ever seen. Mike thinks I should apply for this job and bring the babies along as barnacles living on the tree.
Here is the other zoo picture- Peacocks were wandering around the zoo. They were beautiful. When Jaileigh was younger she sounded like a peacock when she would cry.

We stayed in Chula Vista, home of the Little League World Champs, at the local KOA. For breakfast they had an all you can eat pancake breakfast. The 6 of us went through quite a few pancakes!

Our House Has *4* Walkers

I am happy to announce that we have 4 walkers in the house. Jaileigh has finally decided that she wants to walk. She is only taking 2-3 maybe 4 steps at a time but at least she is trying- FINALLY! I have Jakob walking on video but I can't get it to load on the blog. I've been trying for a week now and no luck. My computer is in the shop (has been for 4 weeks, stupid HP) so I am using Mikes work one. That may or may not be the problem. One day I will get it loaded for all of you followers.

We have been busy. On Friday we went to meet our new doctor. We have been traveling 30 minutes to get to our pediatrician and I finally decided that we needed to find a closer one. Changing doctors is always scary especially when you have 4 little babies whose care is so critical, like it was the first little while we had them home.

Dr "A" is our new doctor and I LOVE him! We were so lucky and blessed to get in to his office. About 2 months ago I tried to get in and they told me he wasn't accepting new patients. A month ago I had my husband call and explain that we were referred to him and that we had quadruplets and they let us schedule an appointment! Hooray the "quad card" worked! He is the first doctor not to stress me out about the babies weights. He said they were perfect- how could I not love him! He also said I can have a handicap plaque for my car so that I won't have to park 500 miles away and try and get 4 babies in and out of places without them getting heatstroke. Enough about that. I'm happy.

Saturday we went to the zoo again. I'll post pictures of that later. On our way home we had a little mishap in the RV. More on that later too. Now for the good part- the pictures. Ladies in the land of DIXIE do you notice the FLYER BLUE shirts. Those are just for you!

Michael and Jaileigh

Jaileigh- look at the grin. She is such a little stinker.

Jakob trying to eat the grass. I don't know why he does that but every time we are outside he is trying to eat it.

Michael sharing his ball

Anthony is always low riding his pants. Megha decided to try and fix that problem and she "Steve Urkeled" him. She pulled his pants up to his armpits and tucked his shirt in. I don't think that he appreciated it. The "Urkel" moment was short-lived, his pants fell back down minutes later.

Jaileigh and the grin again. This is a classic Jaileigh pose. Crawl position and huge grin on her face, nose just a little wrinkled.
Anthony is excited about something. Oh, his girlfriend is on the phone. Ha ha
This is a classic Jakob- Huge grin. Look at those uneven teeth. I hope that when they all come in they will all be even. For right now we just call him the "hillbilly"
Michael was being so CUTE! I have soooo many good pictures of him from this day. He is such a sweetie. He is going to melt some girls hearts someday! The DeMaria Gang. Anthony, Michael, Jaileigh (typical girl-on the phone), and Jakey

Fun Random Pictures

"Oh my goodness, it was sooooo funny!" Jakey is telling us

Jake your losing your milk

Ha ha, I get 2 bottles- Michael thinks that he needs 2 of everything.

Mikey passed out. He ran too hard and the next thing I knew he was fast asleep.

Reading stories to himself. My kids all love books and will sit and read to themselves. What a blessing!
Anthony being coy

Jaileigh removed her clothes and wandered around waving them. She does not like to be dressed and really doesn't like having her diaper on. She also helps out her brothers and takes off their diapers too. Long gone are the clothes-less diaper roaming days. The babies all love their diapers off and all know how to take them off.

Mikey in the corner. This is one of the babies favorite places to play.

Jakey in the middle of a yawn and still grinning from ear to ear.

Caught in the middle of diaper-removal. Look at his face. He KNOWS he's been caught too!

Hmmmm this spoon is pretty good.

The Ball Pit

For the babies birthday we bought them the Eezy Peezy Ball Pit and Play Area. Since the house we live in is so SMALL we don't have room to put it up so someone suggested we put the balls in the play pen. That is just what we did. The babies had a "ball"! I think they are a little too young to totally enjoy the balls but it was something different and interesting for them.
