Living Planet Aquarium

After the firestation we went to the Aquarium that is just around the corner from Julie's fire station. The kids had so much fun. The aquarium is pretty small but it was very kid friendly.

They had a small stuffed penguin that weighed 12-13 pounds, the same weight that a real penguin weighs. The kids could barely lift it.

An Anaconda.

They loved this frog.

They had stingrays to pet but they weren't very friendly. I guess they are really friendly at feeding time which was at 2:30 but you have to pay $6.00 to participate. I thought this was dumb. At the Longbeach Aquarium, the stingrays were very friendly and you didn't have to pay.

That was the only downfall in the whole aquarium. I really liked how they had a large mix of animals from all over.  It has 1250 animals and 267 species on display. There are 3 main sections; the  Discover Utah, Ocean Explorer, and Journey to South America! It was definitely worth the visit.

After our visit here we met Grandma and Rori at City Creek mall for lunch. The kids were so tired and worn out by this time that lunch was quick.

Visiting Julie At The FIRESTATION

Aunt Julie works as a paramedic firefighter for the Sandy Fire Department. She invited us down to take a tour of her station on Wednesday.

She greeted them with fire hats.

Inside the paramedic part of the firetruck. Julie said that a couple of years ago the fire trucks transported patients to the hospitals. Now they don't, they have their own ambulances at the stations that go on calls with them.

Julie took us into their "house". This was their dayroom area. The kids got to watch an educational video on fire.

Julie had her partner dress in his gear in front of the kids. She said that a lot of kids are afraid of fire fighters and will actually hide from them. They like to dress in front of the kids to show them that they aren't scary.

 After being inside the station and seeing the real firefighter the kids were really excited and weren't shy anymore. They wanted to know what everything was. Julie was really nice and showed them all kinds of things.

A Moose And A BBQ

Tuesday my aunt Linda invited us over for dinner. On our way over we had a moose sighting. This mommy and baby moose we right outside of our clubhouse. They were actually in the neighbors yard eating their bushes.

Downstairs Linda had a pool table set up and she let the kids play. They loved it so much!
