Annie's Dental Accident

On Saturday Kristen and I took the gang to get Michael's shots. The doctors office is on the 2nd floor. When we get there we walk up the stairs and then when we leave I let them ride the elevator. They love jumping in the elevator. They chant "Jump, Jump, Jump" while jumping the whole ride. When Annie gets on the elevator she likes to push the Help button so 1/2 the time I have to explain to the operator that my baby pushed the button. I was chasing her to the elevator and she was running, laughing the whole way, and she tripped. She hit her two front teeth on the elevator wall.

I was so upset. I think we called 3 or 4 dentists. I talked to a couple and Mike talked to a couple. I finally reached our dentist and she said just to watch her and to bring her in on Monday. Monday was Labor Day but she was open anyway. ALL the kids had to come for some reason. Thank goodness I had Kristen with me.

They x-rayed her and then looked at her teeth. She chipped both of her teeth and both of them are loose. Dr Ruth said they were ok right now. They would tighten up over time but to watch for signs of infection. She said they may turn gray, which was just a sign of the trauma, but not to worry about it.

This little girl is going to be the death of me! Forget the quads, they have nothing on her.
We got to the dentist and I had forgot her clothes. Mike brought them to me and I put them on just as the dentist came out.

Here is a picture of her teeth. I don't know if you can see the chips. They are pretty small.

Happy Labor Day!

Kristen was still visiting us. We spent the morning at the dentist with Annie. That evening our friends came over and made pizza for us. Shortly after dinner, Kristen had to go home. We were sad to see her go but hope she will come visit again soon.

Helping Daddy tighten the table legs before dinner.

Jake, Jaileigh and Anthony watching the pizza being rolled out.
Baby Thomas and Emily watching too.

I was holding Baby Thomas and my Baby Annie decided to be jealous so he got passed on to Daddy Mike.

Emily was cutting the vegetables and the three loved watching.

Jaileigh playing outside.

Rosemary and Olivia eating ice cream and cookies.

Annie sat by Olivia. Everytime Annie would get a spoon full of ice cream she would bump it into Olivia's arm, getting ice cream on her. Olivia was so sweet about it too, she just kind of whimpered. I don't think she will sit by Annie next time.

Thanks guys for the pizza and company! Kristen we miss you!

First Dentist Visit

All the kids had their dental visits on Wednesday and Thursday. I tried to explain to the receptionist scheduling the visits that I did not have a sitter and would be bringing 5 children BOTH days and could she please schedule them together. She didn't listen so we showed up both days with all 5 children in tow. I'm hoping that our next visit she will listen. I totally blew the photo ops on Thursday, I forgot the camera and my phone. That morning was crazy. I couldn't find my keys so we ended up being 20 minutes late. I was lucky to get there with all 5 kids.

Jaileigh was brave enough to go first. Here she is getting her x-rays taken. She was a little nervous but did great.

Michael was next.

They have a brushing station where you get to listen to music while you brush.

Michael getting his teeth cleaned.

Jaileigh was not impressed with her tooth cleaning or counting session. She did cry a little but held up pretty good.

Michael showing off his pearly whites.

Everyone got a balloon and a toy. On Thursday Jake, Anthony and Annie were seen. Jake and Anthony both cried a little because the dog scared them. The doctor has a small pug that is supposed to help calm the patients but it did the opposite with our crew. Annie was a champ. She walked around the whole office making friends and when it was her turn to have her teeth looked at (total waste of time and money in my opinion) she was the bravest one of all.

On the way home I looked back and Annie had both her fingers up her nostrils. I wasn't fast enough with the camera.

Ah, she found the hole again.

After naptime Jake wandered in where I was cleaning and fell asleep on the stair.

He was one tired little boy.
