Off To The Zoo

Our quad friends from San Diego asked if we wanted to go to the zoo with them while we were down there camping. Of course we did! We met them at opening time at the zoo. I thought we would just stay a couple of hours but we were there from open to close! The kids had so much fun. On the way back to the RV only three of them were able to eat dinner before they fell asleep. The other two fell asleep before we were done ordering at McDonalds and didn't wake up again until the next morning.

Annie- I can't believe how long her hair is. It is so curly you don't know how long it is until you put it in puppy dog ears/pig tails or its wet.

The cute girls.

Part of the group. We had 9 kids and 4 adults. Usually it is just Teri and I with 9 kids so it was nice having the extra help.

This leopard was attacking the cage. I don't know if it was feeding time or all the red was agitating him.

Michael's favorite part- the elephants! The elephants were getting pedicures.

There was a lady talking about elephants and the kids were pretty interested.

The lady let Jaileigh hold a tusk. It was really heavy.

I see 7 out of 9 kiddos.

At the polar bear exhibit there are ice caves to play in. A great place to lose your kids or your parents.

Camping At Pio Pico

The first weekend in October we went camping to Pio Pico. I stayed in Pio Pico with the kids for a week this summer and the kids always ask to go back. We finally made it back for a short visit and they were so excited.

On our way there, we stopped at a local fruit stand and got the kids pumpkins. They were only $0.19/lb. I also bought about 10 pounds of apples that they immediately devoured. I had to stop for more on the way home.

Front row boys- Michael, Jake, Anthony
Girls- Annie and Jaileigh

Michael really wanted me to take a picture of him biting his lip like this.

Silly kid!

Jaileigh's Haircut #2

I gave the boys hair cuts and Jaileigh wanted her hair cut again. I didn't really cut it but she thinks I did. Then she wanted a picture.

I did cut her bangs, really short! She doesn't like them because they get in her eyes so I gave her little Audrey Hepburn bangs. They actually look really cute when they are dry.

Tiki and Anthony

Anthony waited soooooo long to have Tiki. He had such a hard time being patient for his turn. It finally came and it was on Dede's birthday. All the kids wanted to take Dede to Texas Roadhouse for her birthday. That is the family tradition so I think she has been welcomed to the family.

Anthony and the long awaited Tiki

At Texas Roadhouse after your dinner they bring out dessert and make you sit on a saddle to wish you a Happy Birthday on. All the kids wanted a turn sitting on the saddle with Dede.

Homework

The kids have homework everynight. Their teacher gives their homework out at the beginning of the month and it's due at the end of the month. It's pretty nice to be able to work on it at your leisure. The kids love doing it and get so excited. I think it makes them feel really important. I love that they are so excited about learning and I hope they keep this with them forever! It makes a teacher mommy heart happy!

I always make Annie a copy of the homework so she can participate too.

Go Bees!

Baseball has been an interesting experience. Half of the kids love it and half of them don't like it. There is only one that really, really does not like it- Michael. It is too much work for him. hahaha!

Annie loves playing on the bleachers and at the park while the kids play baseball.

Little tiny Jaileigh!

Her helmet is way too big. She had to hold it up so she could see. I told her to keep her baseball hat on and put the helmet over it and she doesn't have to hold it up anymore.
