Happy, Happy Birthday Rori & Pops!!

Happy Birthday to two of my most favorite people in the whole world! My dad, Grandpa Pops, and my baby sister, Rori celebrated at the end of July.

Grandpa Pops!

He is the coolest Pops that can do everything! Even if he can't my kids and I still think he can.  We have great faith in him.

What Grandpa jumps on the trampoline after having a shattered hip and knees- ours does!

We love you Grandpa Pops!!!

Rori has had an amazing year, graduating from law school, passing the bar and getting engaged! Let's see if she can top it in the forthcoming year! I am sure it will be magical!

She is my best friend. She is always willing to listen to me vent. I call her or she calls me and I automatically get diarrhea of the mouth. She patiently listens until I'm done and then I remember to ask her how she is doing.

She will always have a special place in my heart. When I was put in the hospital on bedrest, she was there. When my babies were there, she was there. She was there in Spirit even when she couldn't possibly be there. I love that I can always call her or text her.

She is so much fun to hang out with. We always go along with each others scatterbrained ideas and most of the time they aren't great ideas! So I have to add that she is very supportive!
{black fridays! goldfish crackers, chocolate chip, hershey candy bar runs!}

I love that she is able to carry on the "Stokes lips" that all three of us siblings can do. It proves for hours of entertaining little children during sacrament meeting.

I am very grateful for this ball of energy, passion, love. and sunshine that blessed our family. She is the glue that keeps us together. Love you to pieces Rori Leigh!

This is your golden year. I know it!

Another Day In Idyllwild

The birthday babies and of course they have huge collections of sticks.
Michael, Jakob, Anthony, Jaileigh

Annie wants her hair combed different everyday and then wants pictures taken of it.

Sadly I didn't bring the kids bikes. Big mistake! Good thing I had a bunch of games in the trailer. We put them all together and they had fun playing with them for a little while.

Building tepees.
The first morning we were there, our neighbors packed up and moved spots. I don't know if it was us or if they left for a better spot. Either way, we enjoyed the empty spot next to us! We set up our games there, used it as a baseball field and a place to build tepees.

Wandering around with his yogurt and no shoes or shirt.

I was BBQing bacon cheeseburgers and the kids decided to jump on the grill to make their s'mores.

I turned my head for 2 minutes and these two take off running around the campground just like this. No shoes, no shirt, dirty! Their feet were so filthy, it was disgusting!

Jake's smore. I forgot to bring the chocolate bars so they had to be creative.

Another hairstyle that Annie created.

Ice cream!

Hanging out in the lodge like she owns it!

Annie put my hair in a ponytail and insisted on taking a picture. She did a pretty good job!

Playing a little catch.

Idyllwild Nature Center

On one of the days I took the kids to the Idyllwild Nature Center. They cried and complained the whole way there. Once they were there they were happy as clams.

Playing in the drinking fountain.

Inside the nature center.

Then we ate our picnic lunch on the picnic tables. After our lunch we went on a little hike. It was about 90 degrees so a little warm!

This was a cool tree. At the top was a bird nest.

This was an old beehive built inside a hole in a tree.

This was an old mortar and pestle spot for the ancient Indians. The granite rock was riddled with these holes. The kids were fascinated by it and we had to revisit the nature center so I could explain exactly what this was.

Are we done yet?

"Look at this cool tree!" and they took off running.
