First Day Of Spring

In science 3 or 4 weeks ago the kids learned about hibernation. They made little "build a bear" bears to put into hibernation until spring. Mrs. Sanchez made a little cave for the bears and they stowed them away until March 21.  We were supposed to go camping Friday morning with some friends but the kids COULDN'T miss school! It was so fun.

They sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to gently wake their bears up.
Annie and Jaileigh in red. The big brown thing is the cave.
Jakob and Adalia. He says he is going to marry her when he gets big.
Anthony and Michael with their bears.
Mrs Sanchez gave them each a little notebook and a pencil and they went on a nature walk. They drew picture of signs of spring that they saw.
Michael was very serious about his artwork.
This lady, Mrs. Zeter, is the secretary that greets everyone at the school. I have never seen her not smiling. She is the happiest person I have ever met. Each day she wears something fun and bright. Today she matched the daffodils on her desk.
When they finished with their nature walk they ate little snacks. Berries (fruit snacks) and honey (honey buns).  After that I checked the kids out of school early so we could go camping.
