1....2....3....4 babies!
On July 29, 2008, 4 adorable babies shook the earth with their entrance into the world. Not long after their birth, we experienced a 5.4 magnitude earthquake! During their 2 month stay in the hospital, I had the privilege of taking care of them as one of their 15 primary nurses. We immediately fell in love with the babies (in birth order-Anthony, Michael, Jaileigh, & Jakob) and their awesome parents, Amber & Mike. I've been fortunate enough to keep in touch with the family since they've left the hospital. And here are some pictures from my last two visits to the family that was once 2, now SIX!

This is Jakob. He was the peanut of the bunch when he was first born. Not so much anymore.

Jaileigh got her nails polished by Melissa. Pretty pink. And notice her little bitty bracelet from daddy.

Anthony cuddling w/ Jess.

The family getting interviewed by CBS.

Michael. Mr. Mellow.

Me and Mr. Personality, Jakob.

We tried getting them together for a little photo shoot.....unfortunately, it didn't last long.

Jaileigh was NOT up for it AT ALL. Jakob (top) didn't seem to mind. =)

Jakob's cute little feet.

Bottles, medication syringes, pacifiers, nipples, etc. Can you imagine???

We watched the news clip LIVE on TV! Can you see me???

I think this is Anthony (?)....

The princess finally fell asleep....phew.

New members of the household.

Jess changin' diapers~

How could daddy not spoil her???

Oh boy. Jaileigh goin' a little cross-eyed. She's still so stinkin' cute.

She's thinking...."I know I'm cute. So what?"
Well...Amber & Mike have definitely had their hands full, but they've been blessed with 4 little bundles of joy. I am so happy that all the munchkins are healthy, happy, & strong!

Good pictures Sharon, but I don't know how you manage to remember who's who? If they were my kids, I'd have them wear bracelets til they're 10.

We have had so many things to be thankful for this year. The list goes on and on. I decided I just needed to jump in and get started on a few of our "thankfuls".

The Bloomington Hills 6th Ward threw a block party shower for our babies and my brother quite awhile ago. At the block party a can was passed around and diaper money was raised. We were floored with the amount of money that was raised. Thank you so much. We are so grateful to all of you. Many of you we do not even know. Thank you Thank you Thank you

Our Rancho Cucamonga Ward also threw us a baby shower. This shower was a gift card shower. We have LOVED the gift cards. What a great idea. Again people that we don't even know showed up to the shower to show their support. We are again amazed and so grateful to all of you.

Mikes work, Allergan, had a pass the hat and raised $300 in Babies-R-Us gift cards. Also many individuals have sent us very generous gifts. Thank you again. Again, most of you we do not know.

And for those of you who are bringing and sending gifts we thank you too. I had grand ideas that I would be able to send all of you individual thank you cards but I have since come to my senses and realized I am already overwhelmed with just everyday life. I have a feeling that most of you will understand.

Also a huge thank you to all of our help that comes in daily. Our ward here in Rancho Cucamonga has organized a team of people (men and women) who come in daily to help out. Knowing that someone will be coming that day to help gets us through the tough hours. We also get dinner brought in 3 nights a week. What a relief!

Lastly, thank you to all the friends and family that have traveled long distances to help out. We REALLY appreciate you. Again I am floored by the outpouring amount of support we have received from so many. (When I say "I", I really mean "we" - Mike and I) I am currently working on a blog entry for all of our helpers. I am gathering some great pictures.

Having quadruplets has been the most difficult and challenging occasion of our lives. We wouldn't trade our babies for anything and we can't imagine our lives without them. The only way we are managing this life altering occasion and not going crazy is because we have all of YOU!

I was showing these diapers off and thought it would be interesting for you as well.

The largest diaper is Size 1. The diapers to the left of the Size 1 is the Newborn size. We are still in the Newborns but not for much longer. The middle diaper with the yellow band is a Preemie and the other 2 are the sizes smaller and then there is the cell phone to put things in perspective.

Jaileigh found her thumb. She has been trying so hard to find it and Sunday she finally did. Michael found his on Friday but we haven't caught him on film yet.

And the answers to the last blog are . . . . . . . . . . . .Michael, Anthony, Jakob, and Jaileigh. Thanks for playing. : )

Our 2nd Outing Together

We have all been out together before but I forgot to take pictures (of course) so this is the blog on our almost 1st outing. Our first real outing together was to the eye doctor. This outing was to the GI doctor. All of the babies have reflux and so we took them in to see what could be done for them. Thank you to all the mommies who are offering so much advice and sympathy. We appreciate it.

We took 4 adults and 4 babies, 12 pacifiers, 12 diapers, 8 blankets, 4 bottles, 4 car seats, 6 burp rags, 1 bottle of mylicon, 1 bottle of Tylenol, 4 granola bars, and 1 baby Einstein C.D.

The consensus on the doctor visit was we have beautiful healthy babies with reflux. A male doctor that can call my babies sweethearts and beautiful is always going to be my favorite. I love this Doctor! He was very knowledgeable and made sure that he had their whole history from birth. He asked questions and answered all our questions.

-Anthony has gained an ounce a day since coming home from the hospital.
- We need to give their medicine 30 minutes before they eat and we cannot mix it with milk, like we had been doing. The medicine is disgusting! We are looking into getting it flavored
- Jaileigh will be put on a 3rd medicine for her reflux
- Since they are all still gaining weight he wasn't too concerned.
- There isn't anything he can do for their gas issues except wait for them to learn how to deal with it. (what other mother can be excited that their kids learn how to burp and fart)
- They are all very good weights especially for being as premature as they were
-Developmentally they are at 2 1/2 to 3 months. This is really exciting because there adjusted age is 3 weeks old so they are ahead of what they are expected to be.

The appointment fell during a feeding time so it was good we had help.

Mom and Jaileigh

Toni and Anthony- Toni is one of our NICU nurses that volunteers her time to help us.

Auntie Diane and Jakob- one of our volunteers from church that has adopted us and we have adopted her. We would be lost without her help.

Big Mike and Jaileigh catching up on some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's. Yes, Mike shaved his head. He is competing with the boys on who has the least amount of hair.
