A few notes on the babies

I was able to kangaroo hold (skin to skin) Jakob and Jaileigh on the first day
We have been able to bathe Jaileigh and Michael
We have been able to change all diapers
All babies were intubated except Jaileigh
All babies were extubated by the end of their first day except Anthony
All babies are on lights for bilirubin
All babies are on room air except Anthony
The second day I was able to hold Jaileigh because she was the only one not on lights

Mom and Dad are still holding up. I am finally getting sore. I was on an adrenaline rush for awhile and didn't feel pain, it was sooooo nice too.

Anthony Joseph

Michael Huston

Jaileigh Addison

Jakob Thomas

We would ask all of you to give us some recovery time. I know everyone wants to visit but we are trying to spend as much time in the NICU as possible right now. I have changed rooms and no longer have cell phone service either. The best way to keep updated is the blog or leave messages and we will try to get back to you. We really appreciate all the calls and visits but are feeling overwhelmed at this time. Thank you again for all that you have done. We look forward to visiting you soon. Keep the comments coming, we really read all of them.

Wow, you are amazing. Your babies sound like they are doing incredibly well. You did a good job growing them for as long as you did. Good job mommy - and daddy too.

Do what you need to do for your family right now. There is time later for calls and visits.

Thank-you for your gift to us of sharing your beautiful family with the blog-world.

Now I feel better about my choice to give you a little time before calling. I can't believe how well you sound and your babies seem to be doing. From what I can tell (hard to see past the medical equip) your babies are beautiful!!! At under 3 lbs I didn't expect them to be pretty, but they definately are. Corey has been looking at tickets for me to come out, maybe the end of Sept, so I know he's excited for you too! Rest up so you can be at your peak for your little ones. And keep posting!!! Otherwise you'll have to field a lot more phone calls :) Lots of love!

I'm Cheryl, the King Quads "Grammie" (Jenn's mom). It has been especially interesting to "watch" you along this journey since your pregnancies ran along the same parallel, only one day apart. Your family will continue to be my prayers and I am thankful that things are going so well already for your children!

Hey guys, its Corey, you know -- Marci's husband. I'm not really a blogger, but yours has been a frequent read for the Grip household. Addie is stoked (no pun intended Amber) about your Four Babies! That's awesome. And I'm sure Mike took it as a good sign when his Cubbies smoked our Brewers (on our home field nonetheless) in a four game series to tighten their grap on first right before and after your kids were born. Can you say "Goat curse no more"??? what a better Fathers Day gift for the guy who went from zero to four in the blink of an eye. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your brood!

Congratulation Amber and Mike, This is Tia's older sister, Tonya. I was informed of your blog through Rori's friend, McKayla and so it has been wonderful to follow your progress. It makes me so much more excited for Tia and Andy's BIG Boy coming. Your babies are precious. Amber you are amazing and you couldn't have done it without your wonderful, supportive husband. Love ya, Tonya
